Mission Inn

We took Derek to the Mission Inn to see the Christmas lights for the first time. He was so calmly starring at everything and everyone around while riding in his stroller.

 This shows what he looked like the whole time we were there.

These pictures didn't come out great but at least we have something. Maybe next year he'll show more excitement at how many lights there are. 

He Loves Toys

Derek is beginning to be really fun!! He loves all his toys! This one is one of his favorites right now, he'll sit there for a while and will allows us to get things done around the house. We love how excited he gets when we hand him toys! Hopefully he won't get too many toys for Christmas from his grandparents. HA

Five Months

Our Little Derek is five months today.

Last time he saw the doctor's was a few weeks ago and he weighed 14 lbs 11 oz.

He measured 25 inch then.

He's becomes such a wiggler, he almost wiggled out of the bath tub the other day.

We can tell he's just ready to run around.

He loves visitors :)

Anything his hands find go straight to his mouth.

He still hates the car seat and car rides :(

He loves his Abuelitos and Grandparents!

He only wakes up once at night to eat, except when he's sick.

He loves looking at books, though it is time for some new ones (mommy's tired of reading the same ones)

Peek-a-boo is fun now

He's now splashing in the bath tub, I love it!

He has a favorite toy now.

We love him so much!

Can't wait for his first Christmas!!

4 Months

We have been so busy these days, but I just wanted to share that Derek is 4 months today! Will post more when we have time.

Cloth Diapering

So what's new in our home? We are using cloth diapers as of a couple weeks ago. While reading about making the switch on cloth diapering websites it seemed like a lot of work, but now that we're actually doing it, it isn't bad at all. The only big difference would be doing an extra load of laundry, which isn't a big deal. I love that they are super cute and there are so many different colors to choose from.

These will fit Derek till he gets potty trained, so I know it'll save us loads of money-- Always a plus, right?

Just Because

So Derek has been sleeping in his own room since the day he turned 3 months. That first night was difficult for me. It was the first time EVER that I thought our house was huge! He just seemed so far away from us. But he's been doing great, and putting the cradle away gives us our own room back and it looks so much bigger now. We've been using a baby monitor to hear him at night, I'd like to know what all you parents out there do to listen for their cry at night? comment please :)

Derek's First Halloween

We had very fun Halloween activities this year, it was exciting to have a little someone to dress up for Halloween. Derek looked so cute in his pumpkin costume! We had a blast giving out candy this year!
