Derek's Baby Blessing

We got to bless Derek last Sunday Aug 7, 2011. He got such a beautiful blessing from Cameron. We are thankful to everyone that was able to be with us on this special day, and for those who participated. We are blessed with so much love and support from family and friends.
and last but not least we are very blessed to have Derek in our family, we've had a blast so far. He is the best thing that has happened to us and we love him so much.

(my family is so short, Cameron looks so tall.. I think that's really funny)
This is who came from my side of the family, except for my dad. He had to go home before we took pictures.
(love how Adam is eating Danny's tie. . so cute)
We had so many more people here with us, they actually made our ward look like a ward. Thanks everyone for coming!

Derek has many cousins close in age, they were all born within four months.
My mother-in-law made his cute blessing outfit, he looked so handsome. Thanks Mom! She also provided these pictures for us, since we didn't take any... oops.

Derek Robbe Campbell

-He is finally here!
-We are truly thankful and honored to have a baby boy be part of our lives, to love and to care for!
-He was born July 15, 2011
-6 lbs 14 oz
-19 inch
-He is the most beautiful baby in the whole world!
-He's such a good baby, he sleeps, feeds well, smiles, knows our voices, is beautiful to look at.
-This has been one of those things where you just can't believe you've been living without that something or someone. I can't believe Cameron and I've been without Derek this whole time.
-So we finally came up with the name after we saw him, for all of you who always asked what his name was going to be.
-Labor is hard, but to end up with a baby I would and will do it again.
-Derek did develop jaundice but his jaundice levels have finally come down as of yesterday.
-Everyone says he looks just like Cameron.
-Breastfeeding is amazing, not saying it's been the easiest thing, but we're still working at it and I love it.
-I am doing just fine, I just have to take it easy.
-Our families are also very excited about this new addition.. My parents are finally grandparents!
-We can spend all day just starring at him, he's just so amazing.
-It has been an awesome almost-week with this new addition to our family!

Thirty-Eight Weeks and Ready!

Cameron's dad has made a cradle for every of his children's first baby, we all picked out what we wanted it to look like and he tried his best to make it just like it. I love ours so much, can't wait to see our baby sleeping in it. This is the picture we found:

and this is the wonderful job he's done!

Mom made us the bedding for it and we just love it!

We've also finally finished the nursery and thanks to Darcy who gave us the bedding and everything that comes with it, it looks great! Now we are just waiting for our baby boy to arrive!

Thirty-Seven Weeks

and 3 more to go, hopefully!
-Well this is me at 37 weeks, I feel huge and we're so ready to have this baby, these last three weeks will feel like an eternity.
-I feel like I've dropped, being that I can breath better and I feel super sharp pains on my pelvic floor, and I visit the bathroom even more that ever throughout this pregnancy.
-I still walk every morning
-Our baby keeps squirming inside of me, I know he's dying to come out of there too.
-I've started filling out his baby book
-I'm experiencing the nesting stage for I can't stop cleaning out closets and moving stuff in the baby room, and my big project of the moment is to scrub the grout on our tile floor, it's looking great- I have 2/3 of it done.
-I'm not really craving anything anymore, but I do enjoy otter pops in this heat.
-My hands and feet get really swollen to the point where it hurts to bend my fingers and toes, therefore I am not able to wear my beautiful wedding ring anymore :(
- I am currently dealing with a bad cold :(
-Cameron's been dying to install the car seat in our car so I finally let him yesterday
-If you came over to my house, you'd probably find me cleaning, watching grey's anatomy on netflix, or reading some labor and delivery book.
-Swimming makes me happy
-I have had awesome baby showers lately, Thanks to everyone who helped us get things ready for our little bundle of joy through gifts and advice. We are blessed to have gotten pretty much everything we need to this baby from baby showers.
-I feel GUILTY about not wanting my house to look messy with all the colorful baby stuff around, like our bouncer and swing- they are cute but they do not match our theme
-We have the cutest bedding for our baby's crib
-My mom gave me a prenatal heart listener and I'm always using it, it's really cool.
-At our ultrasound last week, our baby weighed 6 lbs 3 ounces, I might have a huge baby and that makes me nervous.
-It's great to know that our baby has made it to full term as of today and will pretty much be healthy anytime he comes out now.
-I'm glad we only have 3 more weeks to wait for our baby, he'll be with us very soon!! ( I just have to stay busy so time flies)

Thirty-Two Weeks

I am 32 weeks today and I thought I'd share my thoughts:

-Time seems to go by slower now because of how excited I am.

-On my last ultrasound I was told the baby weighs about 3 pounds, and his head is down, hopefully he'll just stay that way for me to push him out when the time comes.

-My ribs now dig into my uterus when I sit, so I can't sit for long periods of time :(

-Weird Craving (which I can't satisfy): dry dog food, I would just love to serve me some with milk and eat it like cereal.

-Everybody comments on how big my belly is getting.

-I do like people knowing I'm pregnant, but I don't like the stares from college students.

-I have enough newborn clothes for this baby, thanks to my mom I don't have to worry about buying newborn clothes.

-We finally have a car seat and stroller, so he'll be safe to bring him home from the hospital.

-I keep building my collection of Dr. Suess books to read to our son .. YAY!

- I am getting tired of the same maternity clothes and sunday dresses.

-We took a tour of the Hospital that I will be delivering, that was kinda fun!

-I love when Cameron talks to our son through my belly, even if he does talk to him about cars.

-We do have a few names picked out, at least we've done some progress.

-I'm way excited about all the new babies this year, from ladies in our ward, cousins, friends.

-Leg cramps, heartburn aren't fun!

-I can't wait to just sit and stare at our baby as much as I want, anytime I want.

Eight more weeks!

Update

Well you all know I'm a terrible blogger. I thought nobody really read our blog but some people have been asking for a new post so here it is. Thanks to all who read our blog!

This is me at 29 weeks.

I have started my 3rd Trimester.

Our baby boy just keeps growing inside of me everyday, and kicking so much. The kicking reassures us that he is doing well.

It's annoying to know he's literally with me at all times but I haven't seen him yet-besides an ultrasound.

We are going crazy about what he will look like.

Cameron's been amazing about all this, he's helping out all the time and giving me compliments;) Good news is I'm at the perfect weight gain so far, even though I look like I've gained 35 lbs by now.

Bad news: sleeping is getting a lot harder, same with getting out of bed, and reaching my feet to tie my shoe or paint my toe nails.

Oh and my hips sure let me know when I've overdone it for the day.

Thanks to some great friends I haven't had to spend too much on maternity clothes.

I do enjoy being pregnant.

I'm glad I've stayed busy with school, for it helps time go by so much faster (springs break was horrible)

Dad has started working on the cradle!

Bad news: we don't have a name yet :(

This is and has been a very happy time in our lives, we know it'll just get better when he arrives.

Can't find anything else to say, perhaps if you ask questions I can answer those on the next post. I'll be posting ultrasound pictures soon. I promise.

This is an old picture: me at 25 weeks.
